2 Major US Electronic Retailers have reported a slow down in the sales of digital music players. But this is only after a huge surge in growth in the past recent months. It is estimated that 1 in every 4
households has a digital music player and now some experts believe that the music players have reached a saturation point. Also another theory is that their is an ever increasing demand for music players on cell phones. So various cell phones now do come with music players on them. The new iphone is a classic example of the switch that is being made to truly one device that does all. Apple is set to launch a new line of ipods later this year which is expected to lift sales slightly ... but most likely not enough. Other competition is also a factor, for example Microsoft's Zune player. I myself wanted to save for a video ipod, but will most likely wait to buy an iphone instead.
