Back in 1982, was when the first compact disc or CD rolled off the assembly line in Germany. The 25th anniversary was marked on August 17th, (three days ago). I absolutely can't wrap my mind around it. It seems like CD's have been around forever, but it surprises me that they are still around. In this day of digital downloads and i-pods, surely the compact disc will not survive another 25 years. Heck they won't even be put in cars anymore, perhaps all that will come with your new vehicle in ten years will be new High Definition formatted discs or perhaps just an mp3 hookup with a possible USB 2.0 hook up. Who knows what the future will hold, perhaps a bio chip underneath our skin that will have a wireless bluetooth with our playlists on it that will automatically be detected by our future smart cars.
